Ivan Hardneck

Ivan Hardneck
Ivan is a Canadian heirloom variety that is fast becoming popular in the USA
Believed to be a Porcelain garlic, Ivan has enough unique characteristics to make its classification uncertain. What is known for certain is that its robust growth pattern and fantastic flavor are winning friends wherever it goes. Our grower reports success as far south as Texas with this hardneck garlic! Ivan produces very large bulbs with white outer wrappers and delicately purple inner wrappers. It has performed well here in our test garden in central Arkansas, and is one our favorites for flavor as well. Ivan has a long storage life for a hardneck, making it an excellent choice for southern growers.
